Mongolia on Horseback
11 days on horseback crossing over 100 kilometers of the Altai National Park in far northwest Mongolia. Escorted by nomadic Khazak herders who loaned us their horses and used their camels to carry our gear, we rode across the uninhabited corner of this exotic land. We met only nomadic families living in their Gers as they moved their large herds of goats to good grass and water. Our goal was the Tavan Bogd Glacier in far northwest Mongolia at the disputed border of Mongolia, China and Russia. Few westerners travel this route--and none by horseback. Join us!
