Cuba, Change is Coming--Ready or Not
The second trip to Cuba in November of 2015, 18 months after my first, was right after the "softening" of relations. The changes on the street were palpable. New restaurants, food carts, small businesses all trying out their new found freedom of expression. But the infrastructure and financial challenges will make this an extraordinarily difficult transition and it will take many years--even generations--for it to be felt in the neighborhoods and in the provinces. The people on the streets remain war,m, welcoming and anxious to join the rest of the world.
