Waterfalls, Glaciers, Icebergs, Volcanic Beaches
Iceland is famous for water--waterfalls, icebergs, glaciers and beaches. In the winter the waterfalls continue to flow and roar, but now are rimmed with ice and spinning off millions of ice crystals that coat the area. Glaciers are rock hard and any bare ice has an azure tint in the sunlight. The black-sand, volcanic beaches are full of icebergs--some the size of small houses--that roll in the surf. No place like Iceland in the winter.
