Washington Northern Coast and San Juan Islands
The northwest coast of Washington state is a series of islands, many connected by bridge--and many, like the San Juan Islands, accesible only by ferryboat. Heavily forested with giant Douglas Fir and Cedar trees, rocky beaches, fog, glorious blue skies by day, cool(er) weather, no bugs, great biking on twisting country roads with little traffic--and now legal marijuana. Overall not a bad place to visit.
