Magnificent, threatened Polar Bears gather every year in late October to await the ice on Hudson Bay so they can begin their seal hunting. At Churchill, Manitoba, the fresh water from the Churchill River flows into the saltier Hudson Bay. The fresh water freezes 2 degrees centigrade sooner than the salt water making ice some two weeks sooner in this the "Polar Bear Capital of the World."
